AP-S 2017 - Live simulation, VR experience and radar demonstration

From 09 to 14 July 2017, IMST will present its innovations in the field of antenna and RF design, as well as its extensive palette of services and products for communication technology at the IEEE AP-S Symposium in San Diego, USA.

The new 3D EM solver EMPIRE XPU 7.53 will be presented which covers nearly all today's design challenges for RF designers, like antennas, passive circuits, packages, waveguides and EMC/EMI problems. EMPIRE XPU enables accurate full 3D EM design of larger and more complex structures compared to conventional EM simulation tools.

As a special highlight, IMST will give some live demonstrations to give a different insight into the development process of RF components. The demonstration will start with a live simulation of an antenna system for a 24-GHz radar module using the EMPIRE XPU simulation software. The radar module contains one Tx and two Rx antenna arrays as well as all associated RF electronics. The simulation will be followed by a virtual reality experience where the 24 GHz radar module and other 3D EM designs can be inspected using a VR headset. The last part of the demonstration will feature a live demonstartion of the functional radar module showing multiple target detection with distance and angular information.
