Wokshop at LAPC 2008: Advanced 3D EM modelling of antennas
This workshop introduces the antenna engineer to advanced antenna design using the powerful 3D field solver EMPIRE XCcel. The use of field solvers is nowadays a must for efficient and accurate design of RF-frontends & components. Element coupling, mounting and assembly parasitics or the electromagnetic environment have an impact on the RF-performance and require detailed investigation. These aspects and more are addressed by introducing the RF-engineer to different antenna configurations designed using EMPIRE XCcel. Several tutorials are presented in which the attendees can participate by using their own laptop or one of the provided PCs. Material and CDs will be handed out during the workshop.

IMST now in space!
The German remote sensing satellite TerraSAR-X has been successfully launched on June 15th, 2007 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
From its orbit at 500 km above our heads the radar satellite will contribute to many services and applications in science and industry.
Scientists from IMST are very proud to be on board with the first space qualified components from IMST.
Engineers from IMST have build high-quality power distribution networks for the signal distribution of the phased array antenna.
Major achievements were excellent magnitude and phase balances as well as the reliability of the components.

Innovative ideas from Germany:
SANTANA Antenna Terminal for Satellite Communications
IMST and the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg have presented a prototype of
an electronically steerable antenna based on digital beamforming suited for satellite
communication. This highly innovative system addresses applications in the area of
mobile satellite communication, for example between planes and satellites
(internet-in-the-sky), without the use of any mechanically moving parts.

i_OBU and i_MORE got a lift at the electronica fair!
A world-novelty, the innovative COM-Module - developed for our customer RITTO - has been announced by IMST GmbH, Germany in April this years Light & Building trade fair already.
At the international trade fair electronica 2006, two new developments of IMST GmbH are got great attention to the visitors of the fair.
- i_OBU, On-Board-Unit, an universal embedded wireless router for UMTS, WLAN & more …
- i_MORE, a modular radio gateway for automation, home appliances and more …
The great success and the demand from the electronica fair encouraged our team to make further steps. Thus, more of these type of solutions can be expected in the near future. Ask our team for further progress plans or download the respective descriptions here:
