The Workshop is co-organised by IMST and FGAN-FHR, and will be held at their respective facilities in Kamp-Lintfort, near Duisburg, and Wachtberg, near Bonn.
IMST GmbH is an independent design & test house for RF, electronics and software.
It has over 10 years experience in the development of mobile radio systems and microelectronics.
More than 140 engineers develop customer specific devices or applications. The service provided covers the
whole design flow, starting with ideas for new products up to the actual implementation & product qualification,
and even manufacturing.
A main focus is the development of wireless terminals for mobile communications and satellite communications.
This covers anything from small RF modules up to complex satellite communication terminals for ships, cars and planes.
IMST's customers include both large enterprises and SMEs.
The most conspicuous characteristic of the FGAN Research Institute for High Frequency
Physics and Radar Techniques (FHR) is the "Kugel" (ball), the world´s largest radome with a diameter of 49 metres,
which houses the space observation radar TIRA (tracking and imaging radar).
Concepts, methods and electromagnetic sensor systems are developed at the institute, particularly in the field of radar.
This is done in close conjunction with novel signal processing methods and innovative technologies in the frequency
range from microwave to lower Terahertz.
The institute's expertise, which is manifested by highly complex experimental systems that are developed and
maintained in-house, covers almost every aspect of modern radar techniques. Thus it secures national client
counselling and judgement capability in the field of military technology.
