Reflectarrays sum up many of the advantages typical of reflector antennas and arrays and have turned to be attractive candidates for applications requiring high-gain, compact, easy deployable and cost-effective radiators.

To be competitive with reflectors and arrays, accurate and efficient synthesis techniques are required. To this end, the Authors have recently done several efforts towards a flexible and efficient phase-only power pattern synthesis procedure with extended features. These include the setup of an efficient multi-step optimization strategy to achieve shaped, reconfigurable patterns; the extension to a multifeed configuration, to improve the degrees of freedom of the structure and also to guarantee the spillover control; the extension to conformal surfaces and the introduction of a multifrequency approach to control the reflectarray frequency dispersion. In this presentation, these advancements will be illustrated and several numerical examples will be shown.
