Technical Contributions from Department of Microwave and Antenna Engineering and WiComm Center of Excellence, Gdansk Univ. of Technology
Michal Mrozowski
The Department of Microwave and Antenna Engineering at the Gdansk University of Technology is one of the leading research groups in Poland in the area of high frequency engineering with almost 50 year long tradition. WiComm is the Wireless Communication Engineering Center of Excellence that was established in 2004 as a result of nationwide competition in which the excellence in research was the main criterion. Within both entities there are several projects underway that fall within the scope of COST IC0603 project The presentation will briefly introduce a few ideas that may be of interest to especially workgroups WG1, WG2, WG3 and WG5. In particular the following topics will be addressed macromodel based FDTD for EBGs and multiscale problems, GPGPU computing for antenna problems, analytical methods and hybrid methods for EBG and FSS for electromagnetic curtains and polarizers, pseudochiral cylinders for radiation pattern shaping and directivity improvement, SDR solutions for RFID and wireless sensors, spatial diversity in wireless sensor networks, UWB antennas, localization on Zigbee and WiFi platforms.
